Up for review today are compressed disposable towels or just “towel pills“ for short. These are basically a compressed pill form towel that expand and unfold when in contact with water.
Towel pills aren’t a new invention, evidence shows that disposable towel pills have been around since the time of the ancient Egyptians. The Japanese have used modern technology and materials to greatly improve the original design and quality. This may be the first time towel pills have been on the market in many hundreds of years, how exciting!
Ok, enough with the history lesson, lets move deeper into this towel pill review!

Compact disposable towel pills are great to store just about anywhere because they have so many uses. I personally keep a few individual towel pills in my survival kit and I keep a full package in my main pack, I plan on keeping a couple in my first aid kit and the glove box of my car.
I’ve had quite a few times where I used these handy towel pills in the field, mainly for cleaning my hands or wiping down a cut. They work very well. The only downside I can see is that you need water to be able to use them.
Some brands of compact towel pills expand much more than others even though they are the same size in “pill form”. Certain pills expand approximately 3x their original size while my brand of towel pills expand nearly 5x the size but cost a bit more.
This is definitely a multi-functional piece of kit that should be added to everyone’s survival pack. The beauty of the towel pill is that its cheap, compact, functional and eco-friendly.

What I like most about these is how easy they are to store anywhere. I have some in my survival kit, my tackle box and the glove box of my car. These are incredibly handy to have around!
These are really good for camping. Did you know there’s also HUGE ones that came out recently? When compressed they’re about the size of a hockey puck, when expanded it grows to the size of a beach towel.
That’s really cool! I didn’t know about those, I placed an order for some and I’ll do a full review on them in the near future!
