This tent is not designed for campsite type sleep outs, it is an ultralight backpacking tent that is meant for those who trek deep into the wilderness and need a lightweight, high quality tent to rely on.
I brought this tent into some very harsh environments since I have owned it and the MSR Hubba Hubba handled everything I could throw at it. Death Valley, the Rockies and northern Alaska were just a few of the locations I brought this tent. I’m glad to report that the Hubba Hubba can stand up to very strong winds and handles a severe rain storm at high altitudes equally well.
In my experience this tent is suitable for moderate winter conditions even though it is listed as a 3 season tent. If you do use it in the winter make sure you don’t set it up directly on the snow, and pack lots of blankets and extra clothing.
Weighing in at just 4 pounds and 20 x 7 inches when packed this is an ultralight tent that is good for anyone who is looking to keep their gear as light and compact as possible. The MSR Hubba is a breeze to carry along when hiking in the backwoods.
My wife’s favorite feature on this tent is how you can put the fly half-on, and roll it up across the arch of the tent. This allows you to fall asleep while gazing at the stars, it really makes for a great experience.
At one time the MSR Hubba Hubba tent poles were prone to cracking at the joints. This was a problem that was common with earlier versions of this backpacking tent, fortunately MSR has fixed the problem. My friends told me that MSR has a very lenient return policy and will fix any broken merchandise no question, I have yet to confirm this.

I really like this tent and have been counting on it for a couple of years now. I have a 150 mile trip through the Rockies coming up, and it’s reassuring to know I have gear that I can count on.
